I-Card is an electronic purse based on chip card technology. This payment device also serves as a means to secure your money.
How does it work?
The card is protected by a secret pin code known only by its holder. Upon subscription, your card is automatically credited up to the amount paid in addition to the required fees and you can use it to purchase items.
Then, credit your I-card at any moment from our bank counters using the loading method you chose when subscribing, that is cash load or autoload.
Cashload method: You are not required to hold an account. Report to one of our dedicated counters and handle your cash to the attending agent who shall perform the loading operation.
Autoload method: You are required to hold an account with First Bank. When subscribing, you are expected to specify the amount to be debited from your account at a choosen frequency. You can then report to our counters at any moment to reload your I-card with an amount less or equal to the amount specified at subscription.
You may also withdraw money from your card. This is called cashback. Report to one of our counters with your I-card and NIC. Fill-in a withdrawal slip and cash your money.
